St. Joseph's Children's Hospital Foundation/Bettina Carroccetto Memorial Fund
Our Mission
St. Joseph’s Hospital will improve the health of all we serve through community-owned health care services that set the standard for high quality, compassionate care.
Our Vision
St. Joseph’s Hospital will be the regional leader in medical excellence by improving the health of our community through accessible, compassionate, and family-focused health care services.
Our Values
The values of St. Joseph’s Hospital are trust, respect, and dignity, and reflect our responsibility to achieve health care excellence for our communities.
We have an extraordinary opportunity to ensure Bettina’s legacy lives on in perpetuity by contributing to the building of the new St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital campus, where a nurses station in the Pediatric Emergency Department will be named in her honor. This lasting tribute will honor the frontline caregivers who embody the same compassion, strength, and dedication that Bettina brought to her work every day.
Bettina was the kind of person you never forget. At just 29 years old, she was already the youngest charge nurse in the Pediatric Emergency Department at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital — a testament not only to her talent and dedication, but to the deep compassion and strength of character that she brought to her work every day.
She loved her job. She loved the pediatric patients she cared for, the colleagues she worked alongside, and the community she served. Bettina’s kindness extended far beyond her clinical skills — she would often cook meals for her team, bringing nourishment and comfort to long, demanding shifts. Her generous spirit was woven into everything she did.
Raised in a close-knit, loving family along with her brothers, Bettina also drew strength and guidance from her faith, which she learned from her devoted grandparents. That faith formed the way she lived, served, and connected with those around her, be it laughing with friends or helping the less fortunate, she brought warmth and kindness to everything she did— always with empathy, grace, and integrity.
As many of you know, Bettina’s legacy has continued to make a difference over the years. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we have been fortunate to provide annual scholarships to nursing students in Bettina’s honor. In addition, we’ve been able to fund a vein viewer for the Pediatric Emergency Department and supply Stop the Bleed/CPR kits to support a community outreach program, which she participated in during her time at St. Joseph’s.
Bettina lived by the adage of caring and never ceasing to care, which she believed is what makes the difference, dedicating each day to embodying that principle in all she did. This nurse’s station will stand at the very heart of the care being delivered while supporting her team members and bringing hope and healing to others. Now, we hope it can become a place that honors her memory and continues the work she so passionately dedicated her life to.
Our family is raising $100,000 to fund this endeavor — a permanent tribute to her life, her service, and her love. This project is not only a way to remember Bettina, but a way to support the nurses who continue the work she held so dear: caring for children and their families at their most vulnerable moments We invite you to be part of this legacy — to help build something lasting and meaningful in Bettina’s memory. Your donation will ensure that her spirit of care lives on in the very place where she gave so much
of herself.
